Biography
Kofi Koranteng is a Ghanaian politician, activist, and former Chief Executive Officer of the Progressive Alliance Movement (PAM).
Born on September 9, 1966, in Accra, Koranteng has been a prominent advocate for the rights of Ghanaians living abroad, particularly through his campaign for the passage of the Representation of the People’s Amendment Act (ROPAA), which seeks to grant voting rights to Ghanaians in the diaspora.
Koranteng’s early education took place at Aggrey Memorial Primary School in Accra and Garrison Primary in Kumasi. He attended Adisadel College in Cape Coast for his secondary education before moving to the United States, where he earned a degree in Economics and Business from New York University.
His time abroad shaped his political views, particularly his belief in the need for broader political representation and inclusion for Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
Politically, Kofi Koranteng’s journey began with his work as CEO of the Progressive Alliance Movement, a non-political advocacy group in the United States. PAM focuses on promoting the rights of Ghanaians living abroad, and under Koranteng’s leadership, the organization became a key player in advocating for the passage of ROPAA.
He led the movement's efforts to challenge the Electoral Commission of Ghana, demanding that the law be fully implemented to allow Ghanaians in the diaspora to vote in national elections.
