Zimbabwe: Special votes ballots to be opened in public on Friday
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says the ballot boxes of the recently held special vote will be opened in public this Friday in Harare in the presence of all political parties, observers and polling agents who have been part of the process.
It also took the opportunity to dispel earlier fears that the uniformed forces and electoral officers of the commission who were unable to cast votes on the 14 and 15 July will not be given the chance to vote on the 31of July. ZEC says it will ensure all those who did not vote will be given the chance to exercise their franchise when the whole nation goes to cast their ballots.
The special voting was undertaken to enable persons who would be on duty on the day of elections to cast their votes ahead of the day of the harmonized elections.
