#ZimElections: Zimbabwe Prepares For Polls Despite Bombing.

Zimbabwe will head for polls on the 30th of July this year in the first ever elections to be organised after the overthrow of ex-President Mugabe who ruled Zimbabwe for 37 years.

Despite the recent rally bombing at Bulawayo which according to investigators was aimed at assassinating the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa, he together with his deputy have said that elections will still transpire undisrupted on the 30th of July.

To foster credible elections, the administration has also invited international observers from the European Union, the International Republican Institute, and the National Democratic Institute, to observe and monitor the upcoming polls.  Also a biometric voter’s register has been put in place to aid in credible polls in upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, all 23 candidates in the presidential race have signed a peace pledge committing themselves and their parties to peaceful campaigns. This was signed after the White City Stadium blast, which claimed two lives and left 47 other Zanu-PF party supporters injured, including security details.
