#Madagascar: Civil Protest ahead of November Elections
There has been series of citizens protest in Madagascar against the government over the introduction of new legislations that the opposition parties claim it will bar them from participating the presidential elections slated to take place on the 24 November 2018.
Two opposition leaders, former Presidents Marc Ravalomanana who was overthrown by a coup in 2009 and Andry Rajoelina who staged a coup and ruled Africa’s biggest Island until the rebirth of democracy are said to be affected by this new rule.
So far two persons have lost their lives as a result of the citizen unrest but they are unrelenting in their demonstrations as they express their frustration over living conditions and are demanding the incumbent President Hery Rajaonarimampianina to resign.
