#EgyptElections: Al Sisi rues inadequate Contenders in Upcoming Elections.

Presidential Candidate and incumbent President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in a recent interview says he had wanted more contenders in this year’s Presidential elections.

He held that most political party contenders withdrew from the contest not by any action of his. He cited for instance that ex-Military Chief of Staff was arrested for illegally running public office and has since been detained. He also added that former air force commander and Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik also dropped his Presidential due to his own personal circumstances.

Suggesting that he had been accused falsely, Al Sisi said he had no hand in candidates withdrawing from their ambitions to be President. He added that a space for more contenders would have given Egyptians a variety of contenders to choose from. Voting in Egypt begins on the 26th of March and ends on 28th March.
