#SierraLeoneElections: Bio and Samura face-off in a Run-Off

The National Election Commission (NEC) of Sierra Leone has announced a run-off set for 27th March 2018 since none of the Presidential candidates was able to attain 55% plus one vote required to declare a president in their recently held elections.
In a press conference held on the 13th March 2018, the Electoral Commissioner Mr. Mohamed Conteh declared opposition party Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP)led by Ex- coup leader Julius Maada Bio as leading with 43.3% of total votes cast with the ruling party candidate Kamara Samura following closely with 42% of the total votes.  
The Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS) has commended the NEC and the people of Sierra Leone for a peaceful and credible election and admonished all stakeholders to allow the electoral process to run smoothly and follow due process to settle any grievances.
