ECN calls presiding officers back to their stations
polling station
The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Director Moses Ndjaraka on Tuesday called back all presiding officers who have gone to their homes, to return to their respective polling stations.
Ndjarakana told Nampa on Tuesday evening that he had just send a message through the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) radio services that all elections' presiding officers should return to their respective polling stations.
He said the presiding officers were not supposed to go home until the verification process is completed and results are announced.
Ndjarakana noted that many presiding officers countrywide left their duty stations after they finished the counting process at their respective polling stations.
“It is not supposed to be like that, they have to wait until the verification of all the results is completed,” he emphasised.
He then told Nampa that the verification of the elections' results is going well, and that the ECN's verification system is intact.
