Suspected Tembo's sympathisers also beat up chauffer Richard Mwale who was driving the two legislators, Dowa West MP Ephraim Kayembe and his Lilongwe North colleague Titus Malipa.Their Toyota Camry, registration number BP 1310, had its rear windscreen smashed.
Lilongwe Police confirmed the incident and said they arrestd four men and a woman, suspected to be Tembo's sympathisers.

We will not recognise another leader of opposition-MCP
MCP secretary Chris Daza yesterday said their party will not recognise whoever is elected as leader of opposition should the House amend standing orders to allow the whole Parliament to elect a candidate for the opposition.
Daza was speaking at a press briefing MCP president John Tembo addressed in Lilongwe.
Tembo's position as leader of the opposition is under dispute, following a motion by former MCP publicity secretary Ishmael Chafukira for Parliament to amend standing orders on the election of leader of opposition.

Govt MPs demand action
The DPP majority might not just benefit the government side during debate of bills and the budget but also the governmet will be under pressure to insitute development in at least all the constituencies.
During contributions to President Bingu wa Mutharika's state of nation address which he deliverde last Tuesday, most government MPs asked for tarred roads, more Admarc selling points and some were even sure that being DPP MP it means automatic development in transpoert and health sector.
