NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) IMPORTS DRONES TO MONITOR 2016 ELECTIONS

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has today said the over 400 pieces of drones the party imported from Taiwan have safely landed in Ghana and these drones are to be meant for monitoring some selected polling stations.

The drones, dubbed ‘Eagle Eye Drones’, which are fitted with HD cameras can fly as high as 200 miles into the sky and be able to capture what’s happening below it even in the night.

VERDICT: FALSE

EXPLANATION: Investigations conducted by Penplusbytes fact-checking team can confirm that the above statement is false. The NPP has not imported any drones to be used in monitoring the 2016 general elections. In a telephone interview with the acting general secretary, Mr. John Boadu, the information is mere propaganda to throw dust in the eye of the ordinary Ghanaian.
